Our Events
SODEPUR SUZALAM SOCIETYFoundation Day
Sodepur Suzalam Society commemorates its foundation day on August 15th, the historical day of India when we got freedom after about 200 years. Established with the aim of promoting social welfare, our organization has continued to serve the community for several years. On this day, we honor our organization’s past achievements and also reflect on new goals for the future. Members come together to celebrate this special day and express gratitude towards supporters who have contributed to their success. It is an occasion of joy and appreciation for society’s continued work toward creating a better society.
International Women’s Day
We at Sodepur Suzalam Society celebrate International Women’s Day every 8th of March to honor and recognize the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. This day provides an opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of women and to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment. We celebrate the day with a range of activities, including speeches, discussions, and cultural events that showcase women’s achievements and highlight the challenges they face. Through our celebrations, we aim to inspire and motivate women to pursue their goals and create a more equitable and just society.
Children’s Day
Sodepur Suzalam Society observes Children’s Day by organizing sports events for children with the aim to promote physical activity and a healthy lifestyle among children, while also providing them with an opportunity to have fun and develop their social skills. The sports events are designed to be inclusive and cater to a range of interests and abilities. Through these arrangements, we hope to instill a sense of confidence and team spirit in children and inspire them to pursue their dreams.
Basanta Utsab
Every year on the occasion of Dol Purnima, Sodepur Suzalam Society holds a grand celebration called Basanta Utsab to welcome the season of spring. On this occasion, we organize a grand celebration involving our volunteers, members, and local children, who come together to play with colored powders and water. The organization takes many preparations such as buying colors, sweets, and decorations and planning events to make the celebration more exciting. Through this celebration, we want to spread joy, love, and unity in the community, promoting the spirit of togetherness and harmony among all.
Saraswati Puja
Sodepur Suzalam Society celebrates Saraswati Puja on Basanta Panchami every year with great enthusiasm. On this day we remain busy preparing for the puja events, and people gather in the premises to worship and make offerings to Goddess Saraswati. Local children and our students take part in various cultural activities, such as dancing and singing, to make the occasion more joyful and momentous. This celebration is an important event for us as it signifies the importance of education, knowledge, and wisdom in our lives.
Exhibition and Competition
Sodepur Suzalam Society believes in providing a platform for individuals to showcase their talents and creativity. In this regard, we organize exhibitions and competitions that allow people to exhibit their handmade products, such as paper bags, jewelry, and gift items. Our self-help group members actively participate in these events, and we provide them with the opportunity to showcase and sell their products. We also arrange competition programs for children including physically challenged kids for singing, and dancing, and also award them to encourage their talents in their respective interests. These events not only provide a platform for individuals to showcase their skills, but they also create opportunities for our members to generate income and enhance their economic empowerment. Through these programs, we aim to encourage creativity, foster community participation, and support the growth of small-scale entrepreneurs.
